Apple Watch workouts no longer have detailed maps

I've been using my Apple Watch workout app for years to track my outdoor walks and runs. Until recently, when I look at the workout in the Fitness app on my iPhone I see the route I took. It seems that, since updating my iPhone to ios 14, I no longer see the detail in the map. I have checked all of the location settings on the phone and the watch. I have unpaired and re-paired the watch to no avail. Any additional thoughts?
