Need good live contact for RIM Blackberry to get help removing 3rd party software. Apple says it can't help me.

I have RIM from Blackberry on my iMac probably from an earlier computer. My external DVD/CD player won't work and Apple Support tells me it is because of this old BB RIM software and that Apple cannot remove it. I have not had a Blackberry since 2011. I have banged on Blackberry by phone and online to no avail. Please help me find the right contact at Blackberry to get this off my iMac. My external DVD/CD player won't work.

iMac 27″, macOS 10.15

Try the following:

1 - boot into Safe Mode (How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support) by booting with the Shift key held down. Safe Mode prevents all 3rd party software from running thus making it easier to delete their files.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing some system cache cleaning, volume verifying and directory repairing.

2 - while in Safe Mode download and run Find Any File to search for any files with the application's name  and the developer's name in the file name.  For example for RIM software you'd do the following searches:

1 - Name contains rim

2 - Name contains blackberry

Any files that are found can be dragged from the search results window to the Desktop or Trash bin in the Dock for deletion.

FAF can search areas that Spotlight can't like invisible folders, system folders and packages.
