How Can I Change the Payment Date on my iCloud Storage Plan

Hi guys,

I hope you’re all great.

I was just wondering if apple still hasn’t found a way to allow it’s users to change the payment date for their storage plans to another date other than the anniversary of the subscription to that plan. The reason I am asking is because this is affecting my credit score badly.

Every month Apple tries to debit my account before there’s money in it and this causes the bank to charge me a “Unpayable fee” and makes me look like a bad payer to other creditors. I have tried the downgrade option, but when I upgrade, the plan continues on the same date. The only other option I can see is to upgrade to the 2TB storage on the date when there’s money in my account to stop this. But my fear is that there’s no plan above 2TB should the date of my salary change again. Please help.

Hey Zinacef,

just wanted to confirm that the solution worked. I wanted to make my payment go off on the 25th, which is today so I downgraded my subscription a few days ago and upgraded it back today. This worked perfectly. However the date for the next renewal is the 24th of next month instead of the 25th. Not sure why it would elect to go one day back, but I will correct this next month.

I was under the assumption you were trying to change the date your credit or debit card is charged? Is this incorrect? Why re-enroll on the same date?

For example, if your payment was charged on the 15th. of the month but you wanted it charged on the 1st., you would cancel on the 30th. and re-enroll on the 1st.

Hi Zinacef,

thank you for taking the time to respond. As I previously stated, I tried to cancel the subscription, but when I re-enroll, it defaults back to the original date.

Do I have to cancel and then wait a couple of days to re-enrol? Because the way I did it was basically cancel and try to re-enroll on the same day.

That is correct. The reason for re-enrolling the same day is because I cancelled the subscription kn the day I wanted it to debit my account. Not sure of that makes sense. But if I’m understanding you correctly, I need to cancel the subscription a few days prior to re-enrolling. I will try that next month. Thank you.

The only way to change the date would be to cancel your plan and re-enroll on the day that is suitable to you.
