Error while copying files to flash drive

When I copy files & folders from my macOS Catalina (latest version) to any of my flash drives in ExFat, I receive this error message.

But when I copy the same files & folders from the flash drives to my MacOS then it works just as fine.

Can't Do Multiple File Copy Operations I recently completed a clean install of Ventura on my iMac 2019. I started copying backed up copies of work files from a USB drive to my Mac hard drive. While that was happening, I tried to copy one PDF file to to my Mac drive and got an error message. I tried another file - Firefox dmg file and got the same error message. See the screenshot. I never had this problem with Monterey.

Error 36 in Finder for every folder I try to copy to an external drive So I wanted to do a backup of my documents on my external HDD and got this error 36 but it doesn't specify which file is affected. It just stops copying everything. After trying different drives (external USB stick with APFS, external HDD with exFAT, USB-C SSD with APFS) I found out that I get the same error whenever I try to copy a folder. I can copy single files though. Of course this can't be the workaround here. My MacOS is the latest version Monterey 12.6 and I am really running out of options with this issue. The usual dot_clean method doesn't work at all. And since it happens with every folder I try it with I really find it hard to believe that they are all corrupted.

Unable to copy files to external drive. Get error code 36. (MacBook Pro 13") I am unable to copy any files to my external drive. I get the error---The finder can't complete the operation because some data can't be read or written. Error code 36.

Did you create this exFAT USB drive on a Mac? Backup the files from the USB stick and use Disk Utility to erase the whole physical USB stick. Within Disk Utility you need to click on "View" and select "Show All Devices" before the physical drive appears on the left pane of Disk Utility.

If you still have problems, then try using another USB stick or another even another brand since the quality of USB sticks is quite poor.
