Does using silicone keyboard cover cause thermal issues on MacBook Air?

It can cause thermal issues and even keyboard performance issues. Other thing to note is that if that cover happens to get out of place and you close the lid then it can cause issues with lid closing / hinge issues.

I am sure that there are positive opinions on the keyboard cover as well however I do not feel that one is needed at all for the MacBook Air/Pro etc.
