When I scan this QR code using an Android, it pops up a link and clicking on the link opens the page.
When I and others try with an iphone, we get a message that Safari cannot open https.
Anyone know why this doesn't work?

Your experience matches that of my daughter who tried using her iPhone.
It acted as if it could read "https" and nothing further.
Th code works for me using an Android phone.
I figured it out. I was using:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aronia_melanocarpa
as a url, but I have to strip the beginning and use:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aronia_melanocarpa
That generates this:
which should work.

While it's not really relevant to the computer question, we have a neighborhood garden with a number of plants. They have a small marker identifying the name of the plant but I thought I would add a QR code with a link to the Wikipedia article, so people can easily look up the information. It works for androids but at the moment not for iPhone and I'd hate to install these and not be respectful of iPhone users. I'm sure that iPhones can read QR codes so not quite sure what's wrong.
I happen to create the code using Microsoft's QR generator:

In case that's relevant. I find it difficult to believe that Microsoft would create an app that creates codes that don't work for iPhone users but who knows?

I get a banner for Safari. I tap on it and get the message "Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found".

I hadn't tried it but just did and got the same message Idris got. I'm curious also what the link is for?
No other ideas. I don't really ever use QR codes so I don't have a lot of experience.
