Thanks for getting back to us. In reference to your question, we're a bit unclear by what you mean to bypass a previous user's account. If the iPhone was previously owned by another user, you'll want to ensure that the following steps in this article were followed: What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch


From there, you'll want to follow the support articles that we previously advised to help update the iOS software.
