My screen on iPad goes brighter then darkerr on its own

The screen brightness on my iPad goes darker in degrees, then start brightening in various degrees on it own. Why?

Your iPad is designed to automatically adjust both the brightness and colour-temperature of the display - in response to changes in ambient light.

This function can be disabled by switching the True Tone setting to OFF.
