Why is Siri so dumb?

I'm told that in October I have a class that I must attend in person despite COVID.

"Hey Siri, set reminder for October 1st at noon"

Okay, what do you want to be reminded about?

"Don't forget to go to class"

And Siri says "OK!" and doesn't set the reminder.

What the **** is the point of this thing if it is so useless? Who would ever remind Siri to go to class? Why doesn't it understand "Don't forget to go to class" is what I'm asking to be reminded about in October?

I am incredibly unimpressed with Siri. Alexa is so much better its embarrassing.
