why can't I send photos in messages today. could send in the past

Today I can't send photos with messages. I have sent photos via text in the past. Today I get the message that the photos did not go through.

Turns out that Verizon had put a block on my number that prevented pictures going through on sms messaging. Still don't know how that block got put on, but once it was removed I could send pictures again.
