PHOTOS USING MY BATTERY

Okay so i use my phone mainly for social media but i keep my brightness down, i do spend time away from my screen so i know my battery is good and i've had this iphone 6s + for the majority of 2020 and my battery health is 91%. i checked my battery today and it said photos background activity and i’ve swiped out of the photos app since i had it previously opened but only for 20 - 30 mins looking at pics i took today. i cant find anything in my settings to help. so can SOMEONE PLEASE HELP?

We understand the Photos app is using a significant amount of your battery charge. We're happy to help.


To begin do you store your pictures directly on the device, or do you use the iCloud Photo service?


If you're using iCloud Photos, we'd recommend checking to see if the sync is stuck. You can check this by navigating to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. If the sync is stuck, you'll see a progress circle and a percentage showing under iCloud Photos. If the sync is stuck go in to Settings > [your name] at the top > iCloud > Photos and turn the iCloud Photos option off. Wait a few seconds then turn it back on. This will refresh the sync.
