Orange dot on right hand corner of screen.
When I make a call, an orange dot is appearing on my screen. I have disabled all aps that ask for permission to use the microphone.

Yes, this normal behaviour. The orange light will appear when any app makes use of the microphone. This includes using the mic to make a phone call.
