Emails sending from alias instead of default mail email address

Yesterday I noticed that when I compose an email on my iPhone X that it is sending from an alias I have. My default is my main name@me account, and when composing it clearly shows I am composing using that email address, however as soon as I receive it, it comes in as from my alias email name.

Then I sent another email from the alias email address, and it was shown as coming from my MAIN (default) name@me email address. Is this a glitch? I definitely have it set up with my main as the default, and in composing it shows that correct main/default address.

No problem!

I would reply using my default main account of myname@me.com. When you get that, you see my correct name and myname@me.com.

If I composed a message to you from scratch, it would show for example "west side girl" with email westsidegirl@me.com, not my default myname@me.com

I only ever use my alias addresses when I'd like to remain anonymous (sometimes a mail list or selling items on CL etc). All of my alias addresses are also@me.com like westsidegirl@me.com.

Just to note: I've also shut my phone down and tried again, still happening. It only happens on my iPhone X, not my laptop/computer.

Then it stands to reason if you used that address to reply to an email, the sender would also see that address as well and not an alias which you didn't use to reply to that email as you suggested here....

Thanks zinacef. It's still happening, but I think it may only be for a new composed message. When I reply to an email, it is received with my main default myname@me.com, not the alias. I wonder if it's just a glitch of the new update, and might correct itself.
