Print a list to pdf

I often need to print or copy a list from Finder Folder, and past or print to pdf or rtf

The only alternative I can think of is PrintScreen but if the list is long you see only one screen

Anybody who has the same problem ?

Let me see:

1) you come here asking for help

2) you receive simple and effective instructions that solve your problem in seconds;

3) and you just tell John he is wrong... without even trying?

FWIW, John's instructions WORK.

Oh well...

So you want Rich Text, correct? Format can be either Rich Text or Plain Text so you'll have to be more specific.

To get the text into a Rich Text format you can do the following:

1 - launch Firefox browser.

2 - drag the folder into the open Firefox window:

3 - select all of the text in the window, ⌘+A will do it.

4 - paste into a Rich Text window (example is Bean)

Being Rich Text the text on the left are links to the files or subfolders in the folder being listed.

I understand you want to print the contents of a Finder folder.

There are a variety of ways to accomplish that, but the first technique that comes to mind is to Select All that folder's contents, Copy, Paste it into your favorite text editor, then File > Print.

As I wrote, please explain what you would like to do. Start from Step 1, proceed to Step 2, and so forth, in a manner such that someone reading it can comprehend your question and follow along in a manner that is likely to produce a solution.

My initial reply to you, "I understand you want to print the contents of a Finder folder" is obviously in error.

Thanks. In that case please follow my initial instructions: Select All that folder's contents, Copy, and then Paste it into your favorite text editor. The result will be a list of the files in that folder.

File > Print will give you the option to save as a PDF.

1:My thinking is the opposite of yours. I think first of format and then of Plain Text

If you look in Text app you have two text formats: Rich Text or Plain Text

Therefore, inside my brain, format comes first, and plain text comes next.

2:...Did I not describe "exactly" what I want?

In fact it was the response by this community that was not "exact" or not drawing attention to pitfalls

3: But now it is clarified. There is just one more question: How to get both the name and also the size column copied to f ex Excel ?

Pasting to rich text, could not reproduce the links, but only text

Another problem is that Apple hides the folder where the Books App are archived (in iCloud Drive.

So you cannot drag that folder, unless you create a new folder with those ebooks, and that is tedious

Is there no way to show just the name and size ? not the date added ? not the exact time ?
