macbook pro 16 inch bluetooth disabled and not pairing

I have a strange issue with a new MacBook Pro 16 inch. I paired the bluetooth module fine until I tried to pair it to a Plantronics Voyager Legend headset, and the pairing failed. Now the Bluetooth module won't work with any other Bluetooth device.

I contacted Plantronics and they don't support Voyager Legend headsets because they discontinued them.

Problem is that my Plantronics Voyager Legend MUST be electrically connected to the port of my MacBook Pro or the bluetooth communications die. It's the strangest thing.

Tried hardware resets -- no luck. Tried resetting the MacBook Bluetooth software --no luck.

Tried Apple customer support. No luck. Took it to the Genius Bar. They can't fix it and want to completely reset the machine.

Any suggestions of how to get past this ?
