Sound issues

I have external speakers set up in my 15" MacBook Pro.But every time I start up the computer I get the "no sound" logo. The only way to fix it is by taking out the aux cable and plug it back in again.

Can this be true?

Do you have any other device connected that outputs sound like hdmi/usb/thunderbolt/bluetooth output?

Do you see your internal and external speaker listed in Sound output settings after login?

I found out what was wrong.

I have my macbook docked via USB-C and by default is wants to use the sound in the screen. So i just have to go and select the correct audio source :-)
