After updating my iPhone Xs over the weekend I noticed my HDMI to Lightning dongle is no longer working.
When attempting to play a video through YouTube or other app’s, I end up with a black screen. The phone screen is displayed on the TV before I start the video and AirPlay using a Apple TV works, the issue for me is I’m using a cable in my truck and now can not watch videos on my TV.

I have the same issue. Netflix downloads no longer play with apple branded HDMI adapter after ios 14.2 update. It does still work fine with Amazon Prime Downloads.
I just purchased a brand new Apple lightning to HDMI adapter. I’m using an iPhone 11 Pro with iOS 14.0.1. But when I plug it in nothing happens. I’ve tried different HDMI cables and 2 different TVs. But it’s like my phone doesn’t even register that the adapter is connected. It charges it but does not display video or play sound on my TV through any app.
Me too. Brand new Apple Lighting HDMI Adapter. Worked great. Then was forced to download new iOS version 14.2 now I can’t watch tv. It’s why I hate apple att. Why screw up something that works great. WTF
I have an iPhone 8+ Running 14.2 and mine works with the adapter for some streaming apps (Netflix, Prime, YouTube) but only plays video not audio for FitOn app. I will contact the FitOn app. I’ve deleted and reinstalled that app and nothing has changed.
It works for me now. Here’s a tip. If you have a separate speaker system attached to your tv, try turning on the sound after you start your FitOn video.
