iMovie Libraries

I am not finding any "built-in sound effects" in my iMovie libraries list. What do I have to do to get them added into the app? Is there a download or do you get them from iTunes (Music)? Is there a good walk-through tutorial online to learn exact steps on how to use iMovie?

Hi, jarreldw,

What operating system and iMovie version are you running?

For iMovie 10 you should be able to access your sound effects by opening an iMovie project and clicking on the Sound Effects item in the media sidebar.

The sound effects, both iLife and iMovie, are on your hard drive. In the Applications folder control-click on the iMovie app icon. Then click on the Show Package Contents from the drop down menu, and go to Resources/iMovie Sound Effects or iLife Sound Effects. Don't remove them from the Resources folder, however. Just check to see if they are there.
