Stolen MacBook erase has been pending for months

Someone stole my device and the erase has been pending for months. I don’t care if I get the device back, I just want to erase all the content of myself such as photos and whatever else. I don’t feel comfortable with knowing someone out their has these pictures and whatever else I can’t even remember on the device. They logged into my Instagram which I found out about two months ago and they have had my device for two years!
