Why the new ipad pro which hold the pen have scratch after two weeks of use

After using the expensive new ipad pro 2020 for less than 2 weeks, the magneticpen holder at the side of the ipad have scratches. The pen too has scratches at the side where it is attached to the ipad. Made appointment at apple service centre and was informed it is due to DUST and also due to WEAR and TEAR issue. Seriously ??? Can happen within 2 weeks??? Definitely due to product fault. Sadly apple does not want to take responsibility of this issue but blame it on the customer. Oh yes, the staff also said i should have wiped the magnetic side from dust first before attaching the pen. Ridiculous.
