On iPad OS, is it possible to play Spotify/Music while watching a YouTube video on mute?

I'm considering buying an iPad to use with my exercise bike. Ideally, I'd like to play Spotify or the Apple Music app while watching muted scenic videos on YouTube to simulate a bike ride. Is it possible to do this on the iPad, watching silent videos while playing music on another app?

I know that the iPhone can only play one app at a time, so muting a YouTube video won't allow you to play music. I'm wondering if the iPad OS has more options for this kind of multi-tasking.

Thanks Chuck! I actually found out how to accomplish what I needed to, by muting YouTube in the browser, then playing the Music app and returning to the video without changing the volume.
