Update Credit Card details

How on earth are you supposed to update your credit card details on an iPhone? If you click "edit" the only option available is to "Remove" which it wont allow you to do as it is attached to an account. So if I try and add an additional method of payment which is the new credit card details, it says these details are already registered even though they have different expiry dates and CVV numbers. I just go round in big pointless circles.

A Few Thoughts:

A. Go Here: Change, Add, or Remove Apple ID Payment Methods - Apple Support.

B. Contact your Bank:

Talk to your financial institution (i.e. bank) and see if this needs approval. It may be seeing this as a fraudulent transaction, and you need to approve of it.

C. Try a Manual Restart:

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: General
  3. Scroll:  to bottom
  4. Tap: Shut Down
  5. Slide: finger to the right
  6. Power it back on. Does it work?
