iPhone X stuck with spinning wheel, how can I backup to iCloud?

I was sending a text this morning when my iPhone X screen froze, which happens sometimes. Then it went to the black screen with the spinning wheel and has been stuck like that for about half an hour. I know that I need to hard reset my phone, but I'm afraid that might erase photos and videos that aren't saved to iCloud.

I have my phone connected to my MacBook, but when I press "Trust" under my phone in Finder it just shows a spinning wheel and doesn't do anything.

Is there anyway I can backup my phone to iCloud or my MacBook while it's stuck? Or is there a way I can reset without losing data?
