My icloud isn't backing up

I have been having issues with my icloud backup. I originally was full on storage so I cleaned out the data till I hit a point where I had plenty of room, when I go to back up it just doesn't go... It says estimating backup for 10 minutes then it just stops and nothing happens. I reset my phone multiple times and still nothing. Originally I think the error message was not enough room but I had plenty of room. It says current backup size is ~2.8 GB and next backup size is ~2.9 GB (plan was original backup size that was free). Can someone help me out?

If the backup is failing -- If you can't back up to iCloud or restore from iCloud backup failed - Apple Support.

Ya thanks for the obvious. I was just seeing if this is an issue others had with an easy fix before I had to get in contact with associates. So if it isn’t a common issue then great I’m going to get Apple support but if there is a simple solution let me know.
