Apple Watch reminders going to shopping list not default

I have an iPhone 7 Plus running iOS 14.0.1 and a new Apple Watch series 5 running watch 7.0.1. The reminders were working fine until recently.

If I create a reminder on the iPhone they are set in reminders, if I set a reminder on Apple Watch they go to shopping list.

I have check the default for reminders and it is set to reminders and both watch and iPhone. I have turned off reminders from iCloud and turned back on again, I have rebooted both watch and iPhone and I have even moved the shopping list down to the bottom of my lists in reminders but still going to shopping list.

Does anybody have a solution?

We see that you're having an issue with Reminders on your Apple Watch. We certainly wanting this to work properly, and we'd be happy to help.

You've already done some great troubleshooting steps to help to resolve this issue. We were able to test this on an Apple Watch Series 5 running watchOS 7.0.1 and we not able to reproduce what you've been experiencing.

Next, let's have you unpair your watch from your iPhone and test to see if the issue remains.

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch
