Cannot Connect to App Store, 14.0.1, iPhone 6s Plus

Hi,


Last night I updated my iPhone 6s Plus to iOS 14.0.1 and since then I can't use the App Store.

I always get "Cannot Connect to App Store".


I have tried different wifi connections and tried 4G. Other apps can use the internet fine.

I have an iPhone 7 (still on 13.7) in the same house, on the same network which can access the App Store fine, so it shouldn't be internet / wifi related.


I have tried...

  • Closing the App Store app down and reopening.
  • Turning the phone off and on.
  • Restoring the phone from a backup.
  • Different wifi networks.
  • 4G connection.


I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or has any ideas?


I'm a developer and tempted to just install the 14.2 beta and see how I go :)

My time and date were correct, I even changed them to be wrong so I could change them back and no luck.


I ran through the link you posted (before I actually asked the question) and also no luck, funnily enough it was point number 3 on that page which seems to have caused my issue :D


I ended up just doing a backup of my device, then a factory reset, then restored my backup and I now have access to the app store again.


I was hesitant to do that originally because I dread the thought of having to re-setup apps if something goes wrong but the process was smooth and got me back in action pretty quick once I decided to stop waiting the next update.


I know it's inconvenient and a proper fix would be nicer, but hopefully that information may help someone else who just needs it working now.

You’ve done some great troubleshooting so far. You may want to check the date and time in Settings > General > Date & Time and make sure it’s set correctly as seen here:


If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services


Also, check Apple’s System Status page as well as stated in that article.

It's interesting that it seems like no one piece of advice is a sure fix for this one. I guess I got lucky with my factory reset -> backup restore.


I like to believe that they are taking this seriously behind the scenes and working on a fix because as you say, a bug preventing app store access is a pretty big deal for Apple customers.


I guess it could be a difficult issue to replicate so that they could debug and fix it.

Same here, both iPhone and iPad, fixes above dont work, however it is only in my past purchases screen i cannot " connect to app store" to see the individual app page itself, eg reviews, i can see my list of purchases but can't get any further to get back to the app page, i can redownload previously purchased apps however, I can also get to subscriptions, and new apps and purchase successfully. This has to be a bug.
