iPhone message goes to email as an attachment rather than an Android phone

I am using my iPhone to text my wife who has an Android phone and an iPad.

The texts go to her work email (I want them to go to her phone) and show as having an attachment.

Sent texts to my wife show on my iPhone as green.

I can text everyone else but not her. Where do I start looking for a solution, please?

Hi chiefsub63,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We understand you’re having trouble texting one specific contact. We’re happy to help.

We suggest deleting her contact and then re-adding it to see if that helps.

Manage and delete contacts on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If it doesn’t try deleting the message thread. If you need to make copies of any of the messages, you’ll want to take screenshots:

Take a screenshot on your iPhone

Should the issue persist, contact your carrier for further troubleshooting.

Take care.

Thank you. I've just tried that but no luck.

I've also checked out this site but it seems that holding your finger on an iMessage no longer gives the option to send as a text.

Do you have any other theories, please? I don't want to turn off iMessages for everyone, which at the moment seems to be the only option.
