OS X version update

Hello there,

In my MacBook pro OS X version is 10.10.5, However I need download some applications for the University course work but it requires 10.12. or above. I have tried so many way unfortunately I am unable to do that.

I would be very grateful if you could help me with this issue.

There are newer versions macOS High Sierra 10.13.6; or later, Mojave 10.14.6.

And then Catalina macOS 10.15.7; and later on, Big Sur11.x will premiere.
