iPhone11 Notes app absolutely draining battery

I am experiencing this as well. Notes used up 85% of my battery since 6AM this morning. I next to never have to charge my phone during the day and I’m barely using the phone today and somehow notes ran for nearly 3 hours. Any solutions yet?

I had this same issue (maybe still be having this issue - too soon to tell), so I deleted all widgets except my calendar widget. Next day (which is today), my phone is getting super hot again, so I check battery usage and it says my Flashlight has been using my battery for 1h33m... I haven’t even turned it on! I don’t know what to do.

Same thing happening to me right now. My phone was at 20% at 3pm and I was at work all day not suing it. I checked my battery health and it said notes was 56% for widget and background activity. The only widget I had was the smart stacks that had notes in it so I deleted that and hoping for the best!

Same here, my phone battery gets drained very quickly since the iOS 14 upgrade. I checked the battery usage and the notes app takes 48% off battery usage. I don’t have the notes widget, and notes background activity is turned off

Thanks - I have been trying to figure this out for the last few days after I realized my battery was draining like crazy. I just got the iPhone 12 Pro Max. I thought it was specific to that, but it looks like the notes app after looking at my battery usage stats. I turned off background app refresh for notes.

okay, i have the same situation, what i did was remove my widgets then i offload my notes app, my phone isn’t overheating anymore after just a few minutes of doing that! I was so furious, my battery health decreased because of this!!

I have this same issue. My iPad battery is draining like crazy if I so much as touch the Notes app. I have a lot of notes in it, so I’m going to try and clean it out, but I’m not convinced it’ll help. Ever since I updated to iPadOS14 Notes runs in the background all the time, and everything else I’ve tried to lower battery consumption hasn’t helped. I like Notes, but if Apple doesn’t fix the background running even with background refresh off, then I may be forced to change apps and not use Notes anymore. I’m using an iPad Pro 10.5” running iPadOS 14.1. There’s a new update so I’m going to try that, but reading it doesn’t indicate anything that might fix this battery problem.

Same issue for me today fir the first time - I think it was the widget although I’ve had it running on the phone for a while with no issue - have removed will see how it goes

Update: I’ve added the widget back in and left background refresh off for notes and so far so good 👍

This is happening to mine too. Did you find a solution? I have the xr but this started too after update.

Yep I turned off the background refresh and that seems to have fixed it

Same here and I don’t even have the notes app as a widget ? It’s been 5 days and nothing has changed.
