Superdrive is trying to eject a disc, but it won't come out.

My 2011 iMac has the built-in Superdrive. It has worked flawlessly in the past, but today I tried to burn a disc, and the disc will NOT eject. It is definitely trying to eject it, but it physically can't do it. I have 2 questions: Is it possible to have it repaired, quickly, at an Apple Store while-I-wait, or is there an outboard CD burner that can plug into my Mac that will absolutely work with the software that is loaded on the Mac. Thanks for any information!

Try bumping the disc with a plastic card while it is trying to eject. Then if it doesn't eject, you may need to resort to more drastic measures like > https://www.jeffgeerling.com/articles/computing/2011/removing-a-stuck-disc-cddvd-a

Yes you can use most an external USB DVD/CD drive with your iMac except for the Apple USB Superdrive. Personally I have a couple of LG DVD/CD drives that work just fine with both my older and newer Mac's.
