Lightning Digital AV Adapter not charging iPad Air

I have bought a Lightning Digital AV Adapter A1438 for my iPad Air model A1474, running iOS 12.4.8

The issue is that when i plugin the adapter to the iPad and insert the original lightning cable in the socket, text "Not Charging" will be shown on the iPad.

I have changed two USB cables + tested multiple chargers, even more powerful than default adapter, but none of this changes ** help.

Plugging the cable into the iPad will charge as usual.

The issue occurs even before plugging the HDMI adapter (no extra power request).

What can I try?

Where did you purchase the adapter? Are you within the return/exchange period from the place you purchased the adapter from?

It sounds like the issue is coming from the adapter and not your iPad Air. We recommend that you test out another adapter to see if you experience the same issue.
