Why do I get HDCP error on my iPhone when trying screen mirror Netflix or Disney Plus?

I have since learned that the projector, through which I was trying to screen mirror Netflix and Disney+ via my iPhone 11, is not HDCP compliant.

The solution seems to be to connect any of the following to your projector, of course only when not directly connecting projector to an HDCP compliant TV):

1) Connect an Apple TV (HDMI)

2) Connect a Google Chromecast

3) Connect an Amazon Firestick

I’m sure there maybe additional solutions. Look forward to hearing about them.

Which iPhone model, and iOS version are you having this issue on? Settings > General > About.

Are you using streaming device to play your content or are you using AirPlay to stream video or mirror your device’s screen? When did you first notice this issue?
