After updated to ios14.01, my Apple Watch and phone weren’t connecting and having problems. I unpaired them and am trying to repair them but the app isn’t working. I know the watch it fine because it would pair on someone else’s phone. Every time I get the set up for myself, I hit it then it freezes until it closes the app out. I don’t know what to do or how to fix it. I’ve tried everything I can think of. Please help!

This is what I've got going on:
Since updating to new phone and iOS I can't reconnect my apple watch. Whenever I attempt to I have my watch available, open the app, click "Start Pairing" and then click "Set Up for Myself." The Watch app then freezes (cannot click cancel, does not advance) and my phone starts to heat up. The watch is connecting to my phone because when I click "Set up for myself" a green dot appears in the top right and if I open the control center I can see "Watch" at the top of the screen.
Restoring iPhone did not work. Erasing watch did not work. Off loading and reinstalling the Watch app did not work.
