Outdoor walk doesn’t register exercise.

Any suggestions on the fix for this. Seems an awfully expensive piece for this not to work.

Hi profmaria1997,

We understand that your walk did not fill in your Exercise ring on your Apple Watch.

As outlined in the "Make sure that you earn Move and Exercise credit" section of this article: Get the most accurate measurements using your Apple Watch, "Every full minute of movement that equals or exceeds the intensity of a brisk walk counts toward your daily Exercise and Move goals."

If the pace of the walk is slower than that of a brisk walk, it will still count towards your Move goal, but not the Exercise goal. We also recommend the other steps in that article as they outline ways to make sure your Watch is getting the best readings for the most accurate results.

Cheers!

The exercise ring doesn’t measure time of a workout, it measures time of intense activity where your heart rate is above normal. So, for example, on a walk, it’s harder to get your heart rate up for a long period of time and therefore harder to get all 30 minuets of exercise credit. Your Watch uses a lot of different data in its calculations as well.
