Apple CarPlay disconnecting in 2020 Acura RDX

Apple CarPlay disconnecting in 2020 Acura RDX with iOS 14.0.1. This problem started when I updated the iOS to 14.0.1.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

It happens every few minutes and then, after a few minutes, it reconnects.

The car’s software is up to date.

Try calling Acura in-car tech support:

1 (888) 528-7876

That worked fir me. They recommended the factory reset, which didn’t work at first, but did when I did it a second time. I deleted the phone from the Acura system before I did the second factory reset. It’s been working on properly for a couple weeks. Fingers crossed.

I have an 2018 Acura RDX and just recently updated to iOS 14.0.1 During my first drive with the update the Apple Car Play disconnected and reconnected six times over a 45 minute drive. Extremely irritating!! Previously my dealer was very helpful with these car play issues. I will call them Monday and update if I get anything not already mentioned in this thread. Sounds like this is an issue with ACURA not responding quickly enough to the apple update?

I had the same problem several months ago on my 2019 RDX and after trying everything I could think of, I called Acura and they had me retry the same things, then, eventually, do a factory restore on the car's infotainment system. That worked for me, but, recently, the disconnects started, again. It happened before updating to iOS 14.3. But, I also recently renewed my remote start services after letting it lapse and the problem started shortly after that. I submitted a support ticket to Acura and they created a case, but I haven't heard back. Does anyone think it's related to the AcuraLink app or services?

Every Acura owner of 2019-2020 rdxs needs to write a letter to Acura. I had a 2019 horrible disconnecting they could never fix and said it was my phone my cord updates - remove waze app. Really. How come ever other car company can get it right. So they sold me a 2020. It’s worse. There is class action lawsuit and if more people don’t start complaining there will be more accidents bc we get distracted when screen goes black or phone disconnects continuously. I’m write now filing for lemon law. 2 years of this **** is awful. I love the car but as a realtor this stuff not signing and in and out of shop. Im

done!! But I told them I will report them to bbb for fraud bc they are still marking that they have apple play which they have known now for almost 2 years that can’t consistently work and 1000s of complaints. More people speak out the better they will help us. Bc owning this car and the more people learn of its problems harder to sell and less money!! Write Acura today

Very frustrating. I have a 2019 and after months of this same struggle, I am three weeks in and working well. I removed all phones from my cars blue tooth and then did a full factory reset. The reset took longer than 20 minutes and I finally just turned the car off.

crossing my fingers and so far so good. The only app I haven’t tried again is Waze. Apple Maps works just fine.
