Spotify on Apple watch

How can I listen to music on spotify with my Apple Watch while going for a run without my iPhone?

Apple Watch- Playing Spotify without Iphone Hey there, I want to buy the Apple Watch but I would like to know if I can play my Spotify playlist while running with my watch and NOT carrying my phone. I read a previous post and it said you need to convert to MP3 in order to do that. Has this changed? I don't really want the watch if I can't listen to Spotify with just my watch. It requires your iPhone at this time.

You can control it with your watch but you can't stream it over cellular at this time.
