Deleting apps issue

I'm trying to delete apps from my phone and nothing is working, how do I trouble shoot this. My phone is up to date.

Assuming they are apps that can be uninstalled and not iOS fixed bundled apps, sometimes in ios14 it is easier (less confusing with the app library complication) to go to:-

Settings

General

Iphone Storage

then tap on the app and tap delete
