I upload videos from my iphone and the audio plays fine in Quicktime but for some reason Final Cut clips them off. It is very annoying and time consuming. Any idea what's going on or how I can fix this issue?
So after encoding it to H.264 1080p the specs are:
Format: H.264 PAL (1-1-6), mono, AAC, 44100 Hz
Resolution: 720 x 1280, 9:16
Encode FPS: 29.97
Data size: 7.86 Mbit/s
Current size 465 x 826 (Scaled 0.65x)
I did but it didn't seem to help. It's weird as some of the audio files seem to have imported, but don't play. Others you can see on the timeline where the audio just cuts out. I didn't know that FCP has trouble importing audio for vertical videos? Any idea why?
Did you try optimizing the media?
What are the video and audio specs displayed in the QuickTime inspector window?
Try optimizing the media. Vertical video sometimes has an audio problem in FCP. What OS and FCP versions are you using?

No. If the file is correct in the QT player try exporting it to ProRes from there and see if that work.
