iCloud log in on Windows

I set up iCloud a long time ago on iPhone 4s and used it until recently on my PC. A couple of days ago I bought a new PC, installed Windows and now iCloud won't let me log in, it says I have to set up the account on iOS device first. I don't have that phone for years. On the other hand I logged in iTunes just fine. WTH??

Hi ascannerdarkly,

Thanks for getting back to us with those additional details. It looks like you're getting a message that you need to set up the account on your Apple device first, and we'd be happy to help.

You can access your Apple ID, and password on iTunes, and on the iCloud website but when you try to set up and use iCloud for Windows, you need to set up iCloud on all of your Apple devices.

It looks like you don't have access to your iPhone 4s anymore. Do you currently own any Apple devices? If so, are you signed in on them with the same Apple ID you used to use on your iPhone 4s?

Please check the information in the following link:

Set up and use iCloud for Windows

We hope this information is useful. Kind regards.

Unfortunately, I don't own any Apple devices for years. What baffles me is the fact that I was able to use the iCloud on my old PC with those same credentials for years after that 4s was gone even after several different Windows installations and multiple component upgrades. I just logged in to appleid.apple.com on my Android device but it won't let me log in to iCloud, it says "your Apple ID is not an iCloud account. Please sign in with the Apple ID from your device." This is the only Apple ID I've ever used. And it was working just fine until a couple of days ago.

Hi ascannerdarkly,

Thanks for stopping by the Apple Support Communities. It looks like you're unable to log into your Apple ID account on your android device.

Are you experiencing the same behavior when you try to to log into your Apple ID on the iCloud website via browser on your new PC?
