The webpage that you are accessing has an embedded malicious link - that is trying to install (subscribe you to) a Calendar that will continuously pester you with unwanted messages - or dire warnings of malware compromise.
The Chrome browser does not incorporate many of the built-in protections found in the Safari browser.
