Does anyone know a keyboard shortcut that takes you to the previously looked at email in the mail app?

I want a keyboard shortcut to take me to the previous email I was looking at.

"return to email" button on my i mac there isn't a button for return to e-mail. if i open a message, click on the link to read an article, i go into safari, but unlike iphone and iPad there's no "return to e-mail" button and I have to re-open e-mail to get back. is there another way?

Mail feature missing After reading an email, the default should be to move to next UNREAD email. Mail does not do this. How can I reverse the direction of movement in my Inbox ? I have to continuously move my cursor from a read email to an UNREAD email. That wastes time.

Not shown in the Mail menu items, or in its Keyboard Shortcuts listing.
