Losing tabs on an iPad

I keep losing all my open tabs on my iPad. This happens when I let my finger linger on the screen for a second or two. The screen opens a new single tab, with whatever it was that I was looking at, and all my previous tabs disappear. This is immensely frustrating, as it happens quite frequently. Why does this happen, and how can I retrieve the tabs I have lost?

Hey there ShropshireTim,

We want to help make sure you're able to access your tabs on the iPad as expected. Just to confirm, are you using Safari on the iPad? If so, this could be happening due to holding after you touch the display. When this happens, are you trying to open a link or open a new tab? The steps under "Browse open tabs" can help you access tabs you previously launched.

Use tabs in Safari on iPad

Cheers!
