blank playlists on apple watch

I figured it out! You tap on the empty playlist, tap the 3 dots and select “download” then put it on the charger to sync. When you tap the 3 dots and select “remove” it now gives you the option to delete the playlist. Looks sooooo much better without those annoying playlists and I only had 4!

This ABSOLUTELY worked. I tried for 2 months since purchasing the Apple Watch 6. Even the "Geniuses" at Apple couldn't figure this out. Very frustrating having 6 blank playlists AND others I DIDN'T sync keep showing up. It was a pain in the butt, took about 10 minutes, but so worth not having multiple "Extra" playlists on my Apple Watch 6.

Swipe Left>Tap 3 dots>choose Download> Then put watch on Charger for a few seconds. Then remove. Goto library, choose playlist>swipe left>Choose delete from Library. Also.....be sure to go into the App on your iPhone and delete it from the Que, otherwise the playlist Will Download for real when you charge the devices.
