I have a iPhone 5s and lately its has started to restart randomly on its own. I have also noticed that the volume controls and ringer have stopped working as well.
I have tried taking apart my phone and cleaning the buttons but that has not helped

Yes but remedy for that and many other similar frozen or stuck or bootloop problems involves the same computer aided forced "DFU" recovery. if you tried the process in the link with no joy then it pretty well confirms a serious hardware problem. It depends what you want to spend on this old phone. In any event only a third party repair shop would attempt to repair it.

A 5s is not worth $74 trade-in even if it worked.
You can try a third party repairer .
I would rather get a low end supermarket android than a used iphone. Too risky.
