Updates to watchOS to 7.0.1 and iOS to 14.0.1 have killed route mapping feature in workout App...

Since update to watchOS to version 7 on my Series 3 Apple Watch; along with iPhone 8 update to iOS 14... the workout app has stopped creating a mapped route for my outdoor walk/hike/cycle exercises... everything was fine prior to updates... all settings I can review should be allowing the capability as before .... from other discussions seen, it appears I’m not alone with this issue... any work around out there?

Hey Bruce,

It sounds like you're having some issues with the Workout app. We can understand wanting to get that resolved. We want to help.

First, we'd recommend unpairing and then pairing your Apple Watch with your iPhone to see if that resolves the issue. This article explains how to unpair your Apple Watch: Unpair and erase your Apple Watch

If that doesn't resolve the issue, we'd then suggest the following steps:

On iPhone, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud. Turn Health on if it isn't already on

Then, get a current backup of your iPhone. This article explains how: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Go to Settings > General > Reset. Tap Erase All Content and Settings

When the iPhone restarts, you'll get the option to set up as new or restore from a backup, we'll want to have you restore from the backup you created then pair your Apple Watch to your iPhone again.

Then, test to see if the issue is resolved.

Thanks!
