Rearranging folder names

I am exporting photos from Photos app using File > Export > Export Unmodified Original. And uses Subfolder Format as Moment Name. The subfolder name looks like this, for example:

  • Moment Name1, 27032019

I want to change the subfolder name to below format:

  • 27032019 Moment Name1

Basically I want the date to be in the beginning so I can sort the folder by chronological order.

Is there a way to do this using the Automator?

No way that I know of to do it with Automator.

However, there are applications like A Better Finder Rename that can process folder names as well as file names.

I might mention, also, that your date format ddmmyyyy also needs to be changed to yyyymmdd if you really want the resulting folders to appear in proper chronological order.

Thanks for your reply. I did try an application called NameChanger but it doesn't let you rearrange the names like I want. I will give this one you recommended a try.

I was hoping I could combine some Apple Scripts with the automator to do this. But I don't know how to right Apple Scripts.

Yes, I need to change the date format.
