The bluetooth settings screen will always say that. Its not trying to pair to an Apple watch. Its just an informative piece of text in case you were trying to pair an Apple watch there as that is not the place to do it.
Also, the Bluetooth settings screen will yes, always start searching for devices to pair to since that is what the screen is meant for. If you are in that screen, then its assumed you want to pair something, and it automatically starts to look for something under "Other devices".
There is absolutely nothing wrong with either of these things. Its working as designed.

I think I accidentally brushed against the button that says pair it. But like I said I haven’t actually ever owned one.
when I turn on the Bluetooth it starts searching. In other devices/“to pair anApple Watch with Your I phone go to the Apple Watch App.
Thanks for your kind attention to this.
Thanks Phil,
You have offered me an explanation that I can live with. I guess I was worried that the task of looking for a watch to pair with was maybe draining my battery. As you probably know, the battery drains fast when the bluetooth is on.

I don’t own it, never had it, don’t need it.
Then why would it want to pair to one?
What exactly are you doing?
What is the exact message you are getting?
No, Jack.
I have already tried that. This time Phil has a nice answer.
Thanks to you and all the rest of the guys for all you do!
