iOS 14 messages

My phone updates to to iOS 14 but the inline and mentions features are not working. Any suggestions?

These features are all shown in this article for folks using iMessage, which requires your recipient to be using Apple equipment.

I’m referring to group text messages. I can only pin my group message but all the new features w/ the update aren’t available. I have checked message settings and restarted my phone over and over. But the features are not available.

Mentions

Direct a message to an individual in a group conversation by typing the person’s name. You can customize a particularly active group so you receive notifications only when you are mentioned.

Inline replies

You can reply directly to a specific message in a group conversation. See all related messages in their own view to easily keep track of a thread.

Set group photo

Set an image for your group conversation using a photo, Memoji, or emoji that is shared with all members of the group.
