It is not working on iOS 14.0.1. Earlier in ios 14 also same happened for some days it did work but then clicking that button in full screen on safari just minimise the screen on browser. The separate popped out window for pip is not created.

Currently Apple TV app and some of the other Apps have this feature not YouTube.
If your video player app (YouTube) doesn’t support PIP right now, then you may have to to wait for the developer to update their app compatible to iOS 14 with PiP.
Alternatively you may go to youtube.com in Safari, play a video, and make it full screen. Now you can select the newly-added PIP button on an iPhone running iOS 14, and the video will pop out from the page. You can change tabs or navigate to different apps, and the video will keep running in the PIP.

I already mentioned the solution that works on YouTube in safari only follow the method shown in the link below:
https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.macrumors.com/how-to/picture-in-picture-fix-youtube/amp/
It works until this date for youtube in safari only on iOS 14.0.1, I can’t confirm for other iOS versions, the trick is after following all the steps and visiting the YouTube page you want to play the video from, you click the action button at the bottom of safari which gives you the options of sharing the page drop down to the bottom of the menu and you will find the shortcut you created click on it and then run the video and it shall work, unfortunately you have to do this every time.
Thanks for the info, but I can’t get the shortcut to show in the share button. I confirmed all the settings are correct. It won’t show up in ADD or EDIT buttons either. Do you think the script was incorrectly copied?
Make sure the script is correct the script does not end at 3000);
there is a line below that
completion()
and then try the steps again, the shortcut has to run from the safari itself to work every time you open a YouTube page not from the shortcuts app.
Good luck
This is what you should be selecting in order for it to show up later
It tries to create the pop up though, but then it closes, I guess YouTube want us to pay for their premium service
It doesn’t work now
Just work on chrome, but need use desktop version.
open YouTube on chrome, set to use desktop version and enjoy videos on pip.... don’t subscribe YouTube premium ..
