My autocorrect is driving me nuts. Every time I type "it's", autocorrect changes the contraction to "it'd" and there is no little popup of the suggested 'corrected' word with the X to close out the option. I have to backspace after I continue writing the sentence and erase each letter of "it'd".

I have already gone into settings and did a "Reset Keyboard Dictionary" several times and restarted the iPhone several times as well, but to no avail. It appears the reset is working for everything else because my emojis turn back to their default yellow, but the initial problem persists. This is a new iPhone SE that I bought a few weeks ago. Also, there is nothing in the Text Replacement section that would be causing this. Is there any way to solve this autocorrect fail?

Thanks for your reply!

I do not want to turn off autocorrect because it helps with 99% of all the other words I use when I am typing very quickly. Also, I have Predictive Text turned off because I find the Predictive Text bar visually obtrusive. Is there not a fix where the keyboard dictionary is truly reset? I use the contraction "it's" probably 30x+ more than "it'd" so I don't know why autocorrect keeps changing it to the latter.

I am having this same exact problem, with “it’s” being autocorrected to “it’d” every single time IF it is followed by another word. For example, in “it’s frustrating how ...” the “it’s” will change to “it’d” following the completion of the second word. However, typing “it’s” by itself, without a word immediately following it, like I am doing in quotes, will not prompt the autocorrection.

I have reset the dictionary. I have tried to “train” the system by tapping the right version in the predictive suggestions every time, and yet it still does this every single time.
